City of Des Moines Marina

To enjoy one of the finest views of the Olympic Mountains, come to this marina facility located on the east side of Puget Sound, 18 miles south of Shilshole and 11 miles north of Point Defiance. (47-24' N lat. 22-20' long.) The marina entrance is between the fishing pier and the north end of the breakwater. At night, look for the three yellow navigation lights on the fishing pier and the single red marker light on the end of the breakwater. After clearing the breakwater, turn starboard and proceed to the fuel dock and guest moorage area. Approximately 1,500' of guest moorage is available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations accepted for vessels 36' and greater in length and for groups of 5 or more boats. 24 hour notice for single boats, two weeks minimum notice for groups. Vessels up to 60' can be accommodated. Water and 20, and 30 amp shore power are available. Check-in at the fuel facility. No time limit. There is a waiting list for permanent moorage. Since its opening in 1970, this well maintained facility has served the community of Des Moines and provided boaters access to the city's business district, located a few blocks east. Nearby are banks, shops, groceries, post office, restaurants, and lodging. Also at the marina are two restaurants, Milluzzo's, and Anthony's Home Port, Classic Yachts, a yacht brokerage, and CSR Marine South Boatyard. Repairs and a 37 ton Travel-lift with a beam capacity of 14' 6" are accessible. Boat launchers for small boats and a fuel dock with gas, diesel, propane, and lubricants are available. A pump-a-head and a port-a-potty dump station are provided free of charge. Showers and restrooms. Families and large gatherings enjoy the picnic and meeting facilities at adjacent Des Moines Beach Park. Call the marina for information. Marina hours: Open all year. 6:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. during the season and 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. off season.
