Attention trailer boaters! More vacationing families
are
discovering this relaxed, comfortable resort, located in the heart of
excellent fishing and cruising waters.
Launch at Alder Bay, Telegraph
Cove,
or Port McNeill and stay in a resort housekeeping unit with full kitchen
and
separate bedroom, a penthouse, or the yurt, a cozy 24' structure with
separate bedroom, bath, and kitchen. When approaching the entrance to
Echo
Bay, look for the store and fuel dock at the site of the Lake Washington
Floating Bridge pontoon. Sheltered moorage, with 15 and 30 ampere power,
is
available farther into the bay. Check in at the store. The water system
provides fresh water for ice and drinking. Block and cube ice is made on
the
premises. Showers, laundry, a 12,000 pound capacity boat dry dock, and
propane are available. Gas, diesel, oils, and kerosene are accessible.
A
40' by 60' covered recreational float has tables, chairs, barbecue, and
crab
cooker. Beginning in July, visitors will enjoy socializing at Wednesday
Barbecue Rib or Salmon Potlucks. All the needed supplies are found in
the
store including fresh dairy products, frozen meats, incredible cinnamon
buns, gourmet cookies, canned and paper goods, condiments, fishing
licenses,
a large selection of fishing tackle, housewares, charts, and fresh
produce.
The Simoom Sound Post Office is on the premises and the book exchange is
a
favorite spot. A fax, and a copy machine are
available.
The latest improvement is the Satellite system which allows Echo Bay to
have
ten Internet connections at the same time. Our marina is a WiFi hot spot server. If your laptop
does
not have wifi capabilities, you can use our laptop in the store OR plug
your
laptop in so it is hardwired at our computer station in the grocery
store. Four, 14 foot Lund boats with 20 horsepower Mercury motors can be
rented to fish for salmon, halibut, cod, and snapper nearby.
Conveniently
located are cleaning tables for crab and fish, and facilities for fish
smoking, and freezing. Garbage drop accessible with moorage. Scheduled
flights connect Echo Bay with Seattle, Campbell River, and Port McNeill.
Boat sitting available. Interact. Owners Bob and Nancy Richter. The
Richters
are planning to retire and have listed their resort and island for sale.
