Comment: Just in case you didn't know. You cannot purchase a Nexus pass here in
Washington State. This pass is only available in the Great Lakes area. I
did
all the documentation, photos, cashiers check and sent it in and had it
all
returned with an explanation say "No good except in the Great Lakes
area".
Only the I-68 in Washington state. Doesn't make sense because a Nexus
pass
is good for both me and my wife for $50.each for 5 years where as it's
$30.
each here for just 1 year. Something isn't right. I just call in before
I
reach my port of entry and let them worry about what they want to do.
Going
to Canada is easy, it's coming back that's a joke.

REPLY: The Great Lakes program is called Nexus Marine,
and
you are correct--it is only available in that area. The Nexus that you
want
to apply for is the Nexus Highway. It is good for land and sea crossing
between Canada and the US in the Pacific Northwest. Customs and Border
Protection is encouraging boaters to apply for this card instead of the
I-68. They say it is a better value as you pointed out. I hope this is
of
help to you.
